The Challenge:
In 1996, Joel Isaacson called Streeter Technologies himself because his rapidly growing company needed improved computer support: his peer-to-peer network of 10 computers was hardly sufficient. Isaacson saw the need to be forward thinking in his technology as he grew the business.

Streeter Technologies, Inc., has supported Joel Isaacson & Company through that growth over the last six years. Today Joel Isaacson & Company, Inc has a network of three dozen PC’s with high-speed internet access, the latest financial planning and accounting tools, and a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) so that partners have access to the network from home.

The Solution:
Streeter Technologies recognized the need to move quickly to a robust client-server network. We re-cabled the office, consolidated the data on an NT 4.0 server, and established high-speed internet access with virus protection, network security and a backup regimen. Once the basic infrastructure was in place, we added a Microsoft Exchange server for centralized calendaring, contact management, task management and email.

Later, as Joel Isaacson & Company grew, Streeter Technologies expanded the network to a second floor in their building, re-vamped their time tracking software to make billing more efficient, and upgraded their tax and financial planning software to take advantage of the latest developments in these areas. Also during this phase, Streeter Technologies completed the company’s Y2K conversion efficiently and economically, enabling Joel Isaacson & Company to maintain their client–centered focus. Streeter Technologies’ recent implementation of a secure VPN enables key staff to work on the network remotely from home or from the road.

Each time new technology is implemented at Joel Isaacson & Company, Streeter Technologies ensures that the employees are making the most of it by developing customized training programs with both group and one-on-one training segments. In 2003, Streeter Technologies continues to provide the day-to-day management of computer systems and ongoing employee training, both critical parts of a successful technology strategy.
